With the rebranding of Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi to Emirates Palace MO, the dining outlets also got an uplift. Yellow was tasked with renaming and developing the visual identity of the gorgeous open-fire cooking restaurant, Sand & Koal (previously BBQ al Qasr).

The insight
Built on the beach, what used to be an improvised additional outlet to Emirate Palace’s dining options tuned out to be a unique open-fire cooking restaurant with a compelling story. What was missing? A vibrant crowd. Because what’s a restaurant if it’s not about the experience, the entertainment, the vibe!
Our mandate? Turn this outlet, perceived as a fine dining spot, into a place where you’d go for an amazing experience, a unique setup and the coolest crowd. Make it THE PLACE TO BE.
The approach
With a clear brand essence in place, a defined competitive landscape, we crafted a compelling name, one that plays on Charcoal and hints to the Seaside!
A blend of two distinctive worlds, that we showcased with a distinctive symbol.
We developed a vibrant visual identity, with a fire menu and some flamin’ collaterals.
Amongst the numerous outlets that Yellow developed/ rebranded for Emirates Palace, this was the most challenging! And oh do we love a good challenge!
