Brand Strategy
How does a new player enter Dubai’s fast paced grocery delivery market? A sector that already has the likes of Talabat, Noon, InstaShop, NowNow and Kibsons competing with a wide range of products delivered to shoppers in a matter of no time?
The answer is simple, you offer something that isn’t just transactional – an emotional benefit. In this case, products that are produced, manufactured, or packaged exclusively in the United Arab Emirates. The concept aims to empower consumers and reduce the number of imported goods consumed in the UAE by promoting fresh, local alternatives. This was the brainchild of our clients at Hattan – a group of companies devoted to driving a positive impact by investing in progress.

The insight
As a local company supporting local UAE commerce, we needed to create a brand that would be truly loved. A brand that taps into the need of the community to support and buy from homegrown brands and producers. One that fosters a sense of pride by delivering healthier, better, and sustainable local products while supporting local individuals, farms, businesses, communities and ultimately the country’s growth.
The approach
A comprehensive research on key players in the market was conducted to see how we can differentiate ourselves in terms of our offering and our visual identity. Once we’ve established our purpose and the essence of our brand, we took the aligned strategy into naming where we decided landed on a name that truly captures what we’re all about: Localy.
A bright identity with a playful, engaging word mark was created, using a colour that completely set it apart from the others in this space. This was rolled out across the packaging, communication material, vehicle branding, uniforms along with all the digital assets. We also developed the launch campaign that took over Dubai with 52 reasons to love Localy, tying in with UAE’s 52nd anniversary.
